Liz lost a lot of credibility with people when she claimed she would get 2 million votes and then failed to get even near enough to get into Parliament. "It was just a joke" said after the fact, simply doesn't wash. The polls were very close to the results as they often are in our elections.
Liz would have done better getting some of her candidates on the NZ First list, joining the likes of Kristen Murfitt, Lee Donaghue and Erica Harvey who failed to get seat because people were foolish enough to believe a party who had been going 2 months would get in. A party is not only a leader but is made up of many.
NZ Loyal had the same or slightly smaller crowds at talks than Advance in the last election and they ended up with similar results.
I know many are going to hate on me for saying this (and NZ Loyal followers seem to be particularly vitriolic if anyone dares to criticise Liz) but all this has now proven to be true. It is no good saying "You are saying this with the benefit of hindsight)" but, in fact it was, the result was glaringly obvious before a single vote was cast.
