THE ELECTRONIC DOPPELGÄNGER

A look beneath the surface at the spiritual warfare of our times by Mike Bee

When we face the facts behind what we see happening in the world today, it cannot be denied that there is a certain very powerful minority-group within humanity who is working very hard to impose its view of life upon the majority.

It takes little imagination to see that the view of this minority-group of how life should be lived by the rest of us is clearly a Very Bad Idea – one that must come from an inhuman source. Those who are working for such things as population reduction and absolute control of the thoughts and actions of other human beings do so with great powers of will and have enormous resources at their disposal. How are we to oppose them?

It is not enough merely to say that there are more of us than there are of them. Potentially, there may be more of us, but while the majority are unaware of what is happening, things are always going to go against us.

Many of us have put much energy into trying to wake others up about what we see happening and are repeatedly frustrated by the deep resistance, present in so many, that keeps them unaware of the evil machinations directed against them. It is vital that we who know what is at stake do not give up on our attempts to educate others, but at some point, we need to step back from what we are doing and ask some very fundamental questions about who or what it is that we are fighting against. To know how to fight against this twenty-first century variety of totalitarian tyranny, we need to understand where its power comes from.

The so-called deep state is powerful because, on the whole, we regard its leaders as ordinary individuals and do not understand what it is that is inspiring and energising them. We look only at surface phenomena and need to penetrate deeper. So long as the power-source of the élites is unidentified, the strategies that they direct against us will continually defeat us, but when light shines into the darkness of what is controlling their actions, then we will be given new weapons that will be effective against them.

What I am about to describe as a diagnosis of what is at the heart of our problem and what can be done about it will not be for everyone. But I am certain that individuals and small groups who dare to face the source of evil in our time can make a huge difference to the overall picture of what is happening. It is not a question of numbers here but of the intensity with which the truth is confronted.

In order to begin to forge the weaponry that I believe can greatly increase effectiveness against this current attack upon humanity, I need to draw upon insights given by Rudolf Steiner in 1917. At that point in time, three years into the First World War, Steiner felt called upon to speak publicly for the first time about events in Europe that had been going on behind the surface from midway through the previous century. He told his listeners that they could not understand the reasons for the current war – and therefore be in a position to resist the forces that had unleashed it and were keeping it going – if they did not understand that everything that happens in this world is the result of actions that have taken place in realms of existence that are not physical.

In a series of talks, gathered together under the title of The Fall of the Spirits of Darkness, Steiner spoke of covertly-working esoteric groups that were aware of spiritual events that had been going on beneath the surface of world-events during the nineteenth century but had held onto this knowledge in order to have power over others. We have become aware today of the presence of secret groups working to carry out an agenda that is not for the good of humanity and so can deduce who Steiner may have been referring to. But what was it that they were concealing from the rest, and how was this to give them power?

The hidden knowledge, that Steiner said must now come out into the open, concerned a great struggle in the spiritual world bordering our own. From the year 1841 onwards, rebellious spirits of the rank of the Angeloi (Angels) – those beings who are nearest to human beings but who do not have physical bodies and therefore never incarnate onto the earthly plane – had gathered under their leader to fight against the good guides of humanity. A spiritual war took place, very close to the borders of the physical world but completely unknown to the vast majority of those on Earth. This war reached its climax in the year 1879 when the rebellious angels were defeated and expelled from their realm.

In the twelfth chapter of The Revelation to John there is given an account of the battle of the Archangel Michael against the dragon that is actually quite an accurate picture of what happened. St John prophetically saw these events that in his time had not yet come to pass and described how the rebellious angels and their leader were defeated and expelled from the spiritual world down into the realm of earth. He concludes the first part of this battle with the words:

Therefore rejoice ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. But woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down among you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.

Hearing this, do you laugh it off as something quaint? Do you reject the idea that a sage, writing in the year 95 AD, could look into the future and see with clarity events that were to come? We have been brought up to think in very different thought-forms, and mockery of what would once have been unquestioningly accepted is very much a characteristic of our times. Yet the kind of thinking that we have at our disposal is actually well-equipped, if we keep ourselves open and hold our scepticism back for a time, to bring us to a clear understanding about what the old writings in their ”quaint” ways are describing.

What was written two thousand years ago needs to be studied in the thought-forms of today. Steiner never wanted disciples who accepted what he said without question but open-minded individuals who took what he gave as a hypothesis and tested it regarding everything else that they knew to be true in life. He did not give his account based on the old prophetic books but described events exactly as he saw them. He was eighteen years old at the time of the expulsion event, and years later in his autobiography he wrote about how he had been able at that time to see everything that was happening spiritually and which his contemporaries could not see.

When the rebellious angels were expelled from the spiritual world, they took up refuge within human beings. They became demons, living in the unconscious, sub-diaphragmatic region of the human soul. Every one of us today has such a creature of darkness within us.

This must have been a very radical idea to the people Steiner was speaking to at the time. Today, when so many terrible events have taken place and when both the heights and depths of human potential have been shown, perhaps it is not so difficult an idea to come to grips with.

In 1917, at the time that Steiner first mentioned these events, the demons had had 38 years to “set up house” in the physical world. Steiner spoke of how phenomena that were visible in his time could be traced back to their actions. They had used the 38 years of their period of earthly habitation to colonise more and more of the space available to them in the human soul and in the world outside. When we see such utter depravity and incompetence in so many of our world-leaders, this is because the demonic intelligence has been at work shaping the kinds of power relationships that can best serve their dark agenda.

Steiner called those demons who were active in human souls the ahrimanic doppelgänger. Since his time the term electronic doppelgänger has been used. The doppelgänger, or double, is a concept most people have some basic familiarity with today, but Steiner gave his hearers very specific information that he said would be vital for the future. Ahriman is the name he gave for that being which has brought about materialism by taking us out of the old, dreamy clairvoyance of past ages into the intellectuality that we use today, and a great part of Steiner’s life was devoted to giving human beings knowledge of him. As well as speaking about him over years, Steiner sketched him, worked him into a larger-then-life wooden statue and depicted him in four dramas. However, he only spoke specifically of the ahrimanic doppelgängers under his control in a few lectures, all given in the year 1917.

Steiner spoke of how the consciousness of key personalities had, in the summer of 1914, been dimmed down in such a way that a war that was obviously going to be so catastrophic for all the nations involved was able to break out. He also gave information about the secret lodges who had prepared for this event over many years. To dim down human consciousness at a key moment and in a coordinated fashion can be seen as a characteristic sign of the activity of doppelgängers, working independently but controlled by a higher unifying force. Numerous other examples could be given throughout recent history.

If 38 years had provided enough opportunity for the doppelgängers of the time to control human life to the point where they were able to bring about the Great War, think of how further advanced they are today. If they have been on Earth since September 1879, that means they have been active amongst us for just a little short of 150 years. They have very specific aims which, of course, are never the aims that are given when we are told what is happening. What is it that they are striving for?

According to Steiner, the electronic dopplegänger has a very great intellect – it is “super-intelligent” and far cleverer than us – and a will that is akin to the powers of nature as we see this expressed in volcanos, earthquakes and the like. It has no capacity for human feeling. It works within us through electrical forces, entering us just before we are born and staying with us until a few days before our death. Although it inhabits our unconscious, it is itself highly conscious and is continually striving to make certain things happen.

These entities want a future where their control over human beings is always increasing, both in this world and in the existence that we will enter after death. One of their most significant aims is to eliminate spiritual understanding in people who are alive today so that when they die these people cannot cross over into the spiritual world.

When we die, the body – in which we have been enclosed for many years and through which our experiences have been delivered to us – is stripped away from us, and we must orientate in very changed conditions. Our consciousness does not cease at death – that is a tragic error that has been fed to us by the forces of our culture – our consciousness is actually enhanced. But we no longer have sense organs and therefore cannot perceive the world in the way we have become used to. And we no longer have a brain and therefore cannot think in the ways that have become habitual to us. We have to make some very big adjustments, and the electronic doppelgänger has made it his business throughout our lifetime to make the transition from earth-existence to experience in the realm of the Spirit as difficult as possible.

For many reasons, death has come to be feared by many in our time. Our personal doppelgänger has done all it can to increase this fear and distract us from facing it honestly. If we prepare ourselves for death, there is, in fact, very little to be feared, for we shall meet with a great deal of assistance that will make the transition both smooth and joyful – perhaps even triumphant! However, the spiritual beings who are involved in this transition can only work where there is already some degree of spiritual understanding from the deceased. If there is none – if the person who died has devoted himself while he lived to the realm of the senses exclusively – then the adjustment that needs to be made will be much harder, and for a time he will be trapped in a kind of limbo, present neither on Earth nor in the Spirit.

The electronic doppelgänger wants this to happen, for it is then able to exploit the situation by taking charge of the soul of the one who has died and forcing them to be active in ways they do not want. Without help from those on Earth who are connected with the deceased and give them love and support, such an unfortunate soul must remain under the influence of their doppelgänger and the nightmarish world that it inhabits and submit themselves to the doppelgänger’s alien will. The recently-died no longer have a body and therefore are rejected by the earth, but they have not been able to transition into the Spirit and therefore are rejected also by that world. They live a grey, shadowy existence, subject to the evil will of the ahrimanic beings around them. This goes on until they are able to pick up some knowledge of the Spirit, even with the limited opportunities possible to them, but this is a process that may take some considerable time.

Ahriman’s goal for the future is to drive all understanding of the Spirit out of humanity so that life on Earth becomes similar to what is experienced by those who have died but have been unable to transition. Those on Earth would lose their humanity and enter a kind of grey, virtual world controlled by the doppelgängers who would have more and more power. This would be a nightmarish future for humanity, and the possibility that it could actually happen to a large proportion of human beings is very real. Plans have been laid for many years, and the world the ahrimanic beings intend for us is very close to fulfillment unless human beings awaken to what is happening and work strongly against it.

Steiner was aware of the future when medicine would be seen as a tool of social control, and pharmaceutical companies would develop a “vaccine” that would work to abolish the human soul. Imagine all those chemists working to develop a product that would do what was desired, and then imagine that each one of them is being inspired by his own electronic doppelgänger and that the whole operation is coordinated by even more powerful spiritual forces. This and much else has been possible to them.

(As an aside to this, it is an extraordinary phenomenon that a significant number of Steiner’s present-day followers failed to understand what was going on at the time of the so-called “pandemic”, about which they had been repeatedly warned. And both the Medical Section at the Goetheanum and the International Federation of Anthroposophic Medical Associations,who represent the movement’s medical professionals, have stated that they are not anti-vaccine and do not support anti-vaccine movements.)

How many human beings today consciously work against humanity and for the aims of Ahriman under the influence of their own ahrimanic doppelgänger? The majority of those who work for the goals that are so at odds with human aims are probably unaware of the origin of the powerful forces that are impelling them. Those who believe in a future in which humanity is merged with machines are under the influence of Ahriman, for this is another of his major goals. A hundred years ago, Steiner saw that technology was destined to have an ever-greater influence over humanity and, in some ways, could not be stopped. However he also held out great hopes for humanity because of our ability to meet technology with our human forces of love and compassion – qualities which Ahriman cannot comprehend.

Looking at current events from a spiritual perspective widens our idea of what is going on. In my opinion, you cannot really fight against such forces by conventional means alone. We are engaged in spiritual warfare, and this needs new armour and weaponry that have never been available before.

I could do no more than make a few hints in this short article. For those who want to go deeper, Steiner’s entire life gives not just the negative but profound positive pictures of what is working for humanity at this time and the many ways by which we can connect with this. One book in particular influenced my decision to write this article. It is The Electronic Doppelgänger, published by Rudolf Steiner Press in 2016, and is an excellent way to discover the amazing relevance of Steiner’s vision today. It contains key passages from Steiner’s 1917 lectures along with a very fine introductory essay by the editor.

We all have our experiences fighting the beast. Many of us know that what we are engaged in is at its heart a spiritual war – one that we came to Earth specifically to be a part of. How deeply into it do we want to go? I believe that some awareness of the spiritual dimensions of what is happening, brought by an initiate who speaks only of what he has personally seen and researched and who had no personal agenda other than to help humanity, can only assist us to align with what is working for us in the great drama of our time.
